Advances in medical science have led to an increased demand for stem cell transplants, leaving patients facing lengthy wait times and more chemotherapy.  Dr Ralph Meyer, regional vice-president of Cancer Care Ontario adds “improved technology has also made the transplant procedure safer for older patients.”
