Injuries to the rotator cuff can destroy a person’s ability to lift or move their arm. Even after traditional surgery, often the muscles and tendons of the shoulder never heal.
UConn Health Surgeon, Gus Mazzocca and his team are testing the physical limits of surgical repairs and rehabilitation, and uncovering the ability of patients’ own adult stem cells to regenerate tendon and muscle connections to bone.
