They can theoretically divide without limit to replenish other cells as long as a person is still alive. When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential to either remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialised function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell.
By enabling more stem cells into the blood stream people will not age as quickly, will sustain growth and well being for a much longer period of time and will fight disease much more effectively and aggressively.
